History comes to life this summer as Fort Nelson invites visitors to experience the sights, sounds and stories of the past with its Big History Weekend.

A Tudor falconry display, Viking and Saxon skirmishes, a Second World War dog search and rescue display and Roman story telling sessions will entertain visitors.

Gun-firing will take place, face painting and a Time Travellers trail for all the family to enjoy.

The event will showcase a vibrant programme celebrating Britain's rich military and social history in the surroundings of the iconic Victorian fort overlooking Portsmouth.
