Steve Mason Vintage Vocalist

Steve Mason Vintage Vocalist

I'm a singer who sings songs from the 20s to the 50s, both as a soloist and within 'Hep n' Swingin' Vintage Dance Band. I am also a specialist DJ playing songs from the same era. In addition, I teach Lindy Hop and other dances from the 20s - 50s. Steve has been singing behind the DJ booth ever since he started Djing, but eventually decided to contact a vocal coach to train. Since he first performed at the Market Rasen Vintage Tea Dance, he has appeared as a vocalist at many events. Steve performs using high quality backing tracks and sings a wide range of songs from the 20s - 60s, but everything he chooses has its roots in swing or jazz music. He chooses songs to suit the event and can encourage dancing or singing along as you prefer. Steve loves building a rapport with his audience and never fails to achieve laughter and smiles. If you’re looking for an entertainer for your vintage event, Steve will choose music appropriate to the era. He researches the songs so that he can share interesting information as well as encouraging engagement through dance or singing.

Welcome to my world, where history comes alive! As a passionate reenactor since 2015, I've immersed myself in the past, bringing historical images and everyday people to life. Since 2018, I've also embraced my role as a photographic model and supporting artist, capturing the essence of history through the lens. Join me on this journey, along with my ever-present Great Uncles, as we explore the stories that shaped our world! I am "The Great Uncles", enjoying taking time to celebrate the music, humour, characters, traditions and stories of the early 1900's but especially the 1940s and wartime era. Together with my wife and friends from Spirit of The Homefront I enjoy vintage events and also present on 1940sradio.com. I offer talks to groups on Policing in the 1940's

WW1 Medical Services Living History Society

The WW1 Medical Services Living History Society is a collaboration of some of the biggest, best and brightest WW1 Medical Service Living Historians and Reenactors, combining the might of small groups, individual reenactors and medical units attached to larger WW1 Living History groups, giving us the ability to portray the fascinating and somewhat overlooked history of the complete chain of evacuation. From the Regimental Aid Point, through the Field Ambulances and the Aid Posts, to the Casualty Clearing Station. All the way to Base Hospitals and the Convalescence back in Blighty. From the Regimental Stretcher Bearers, the Medical Orderlies and Medical Officers of the Royal Army Medical Corps, the Nurses of the Queen Alexander Imperial Military Nursing Service and the Volunteer Aid Detachment and everything weird and wonderful in-between.

Bluejackets Reenactment Society

Bluejackets Reenactment Society

The Bluejackets society was set up in 2001 to re-create the Royal Navy of the Victorian era. Since then we have added the Royal Navy in World War One and the Russian Civil War so that our period now spans from 1879 to 1919. We portray the Royal Navy from 1860 to 1919. During this period the navy ruled the waves and defended the nation's interests both at sea and on land. We portray sailors and Royal Marines in a number of the conflicts during this period. If you are interested in booking The Bluejackets please get in touch and we can start discussing your requirements. We offer living history displays with lots of interaction and things going on to educate and entertain the public.

502nd pathfinders widow makers

We are a group of UK based WWII reenactors who portray Pathfinders from the U.S 502nd parachute infantry regiment of the 101st airborne division. Our aim is to provide historical reenactments and interaction with the public at WWII events around the country. Some of our members are ex military with an airborne background and as such we hope to present the brotherhood and unique characterisitics of these special troops both historically and morally. Our Female members portray the US Womens Army Corps. (WACs) It is often said that paratroopers are the tip of the spear. To that end the Pathfinders are the edge upon that tip. Small heavily armed units leading the way, tasked with locating, securing and defending the drop zones for the following sticks of troopers. The first US paratrooper to hit the ground on D Day was a member of the 502nd.

Representing a Royal Navy cruiser, I demonstrate the maritime element of the Second World War. I am actively recruiting new members. I specialise in navigation, meteorology and oceanography, but there are opportunities for communications, musicians and engineers amongst others. A cruiser was a floating city and, whatever your interest, I can find a way of integrating you into the ship's company. Do get in touch if you would like to discuss it more.
