Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, the clock is turning back once again as the historic spa town of Buxton prepares to host a full-throttle celebration of 1940s life on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th May 2027.
Set against the picturesque backdrop of Buxton’s historic surroundings, which played a vital role throughout the wartime years, this family-friendly event promises a weekend packed with nostalgia, history, entertainment, and vintage charm.
Organised with enthusiasts, families, and history lovers in mind, the second annual Buxton 1940s Weekend will feature:
-Authentic Living History Displays
– Meet wartime characters, explore recreated encampments, and discover what life was like on both the home front and front lines.
– Military and civilian reenactors will bring the sights, sounds, and stories of the 1940s vividly to life.
-Classic Military Vehicles – Explore a fascinating display of WWII transport, from jeeps to lorries, perfect for viewing and photography.
-Bustling Vintage Market – Browse a treasure trove of vintage fashion, antiques, collectibles, and homeware.
-Live 1940s Music and Entertainment – Enjoy swing bands, vintage singers, dance demonstrations, and live entertainment throughout the weekend (Some events will be ticketed entry).
Visitors are encouraged to dress in 1940s attire to help create a truly immersive atmosphere and make the weekend an unforgettable experience for all ages.
